Member of City Council, District 6 City of Watsonville Occupation: Business person/Banker Age: 54 Education and Qualifications: Education: BA Sociology, Stanislaus State University I was born and raised on a family farm in Watsonville, attended local schools and have worked in banking for 32 years. My husband, Stan Nielsen, and I have lived in District 6 for 12 years. As a present city council member, business person and community volunteer I feel that I have the qualifications and ability to represent you on the Watsonville City Council. There are many important issues facing Watsonville that must be addressed as we go forward. The issues that I believe to be the most critical are: (1) Promotion of a healthy business environment that will provide for a mix of jobs. (2) The education of our youth to ensure that young people have the skills to obtain good jobs. (3) The building of housing for low, moderate and higher income residents to promote a balanced community. (4) The promotion of our unique community assets including the airport, farm lands and wetlands. My business skills and community involvement have given me the experience necessary to help lead Watsonville, with good fiscal planning, as we face the challenges ahead. I ask for your support. |

Mi esposo Stan Nielsen y yo hemos vivido en el Distrito 6 por 12 años. Como miembro del actual Concejo de la Ciudad, mujer de negocios y voluntaria en la comunidad, creo que tengo la capacidad y las habilidades para representarle a usted en el Concejo de la Ciudad de Watsonville. Watsonville se enfrenta con muchos asuntos importantes que tenemos que atender mientras seguimos por delante.
