I have been honored to represent the 5th District for the past four years.  With my previous experience as your State Senator, Assemblymember and Secretary of State, I was able to hit the ground running to represent you.

My accomplishments include:

- Completed purchase of the site for new Felton Library

- Added Sheriff’s patrol deputies

- Settled longstanding lawsuit between Scotts Valley and the County

- Led statewide effort to have $5.4 million returned from State “unfunded mandates,” including $1.8 million for County Parks.

- Added new streetlights in Felton and Boulder Creek, and crosswalk improvements on Highway 9

- Worked for merger of Lompico and San Lorenzo Valley Water Districts

- Voted against pay increase for Supervisors

- Established County Economic Development Department

- Worked to reduce cost of electricity in San Lorenzo Valley

- Advocated for Federal Aviation Administration to address the airplane noise impact on 5th District residents

- For 3 years, led a 3-county effort to bring Community Choice Energy to the region for green, local choice, low-cost energy

- Held numerous town hall, constituent and neighborhood meetings.
