Edward Bottorff
For Capitola City Councilmember
Occupation: Retired Age: 62
I’ve proudly served on the Capitola City Council for the last four years. I’m a native Californian, and have lived in Capitola for seven years.
I’m currently the Mayor of Capitola. In association with that position, I sit on the Board of Directors for the Santa Cruz Regional Transportation Commission, the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG), Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District (METRO), Santa Cruz Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), and am the designee for Congressman Sam Farr to the Santa Cruz County Select Committee to Reduce Jet Noise.
I’m actively involved in the community, a member of the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce, and serve as Treasurer for the Capitola Public Safety Foundation.
I advocate for all residents, children and seniors alike in Capitola. I seriously research and evaluate all issues prior to voting.
I’ve worked diligently to renew our relationship with the Soquel Unified Elementary School District, and regularly interact with local businesses.
I’ve strived to improve all infrastructure, facilities, and parks, including our precious beach. I support the plan to rebuild our aging wharf.
Although I have been an innovator for many issues, none of my accomplishments would be possible without the cooperation and the will of other members of the Capitola City Council.
