I’m asking for your vote to allow me to serve you and our entire community on the Santa Cruz City Council in the challenging year ahead.

If city councilmembers are recalled in this election, we’ll need people to step in and work quickly to restore confidence in our city government. I will bring the breadth of my experience and my demonstrated record of success as a three-time Mayor, twelve-year Councilmember and local small business owner to ensure progress on our most urgent issues:  housing, homelessness, a thriving local economy, environmental sustainability and health and safety for all of our residents. I’m ready to hit the ground running and get back to work for you on Day One.

Santa Cruz’s future depends on diverse community engagement, strong public-private partnerships, and collaboration within the Council, as well as with city staff and our county government partners. If elected, I will emphasize creating collaborative solutions based on civil discussion, principled compromise with a focus on moving forward.  I look forward to working with you, and with all our neighbors, on important civic and community efforts to make Santa Cruz an even better place to live and work!
