Vanessa Quiroz-Carter
Adjunct Professor 831-713-8628 quirozcarterforcitycouncil@gmail.com Age: 33
Born and raised in Watsonville, I have been active in the community for nearly 20 years. As a third generation Watsonville resident, descended from immigrants from Mexico, I am passionate about serving the needs of the community. I have worked in nonprofits and afterschool programs countywide and previously taught at a high school in Watsonville. Currently, I am an Adjunct Professor at Hartnell College.
I attended Cabrillo College for 2 years before transferring to and graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, where I received my B.A. in English Literature in 2009. I received a Master's Degree in Communication from California State University, East Bay in 2018.
I am running for City Council to better serve and represent the community that I am fortunate to be a part of. Our community thrives when we all have a say, and I am willing to listen to and work with community members with differing opinions to reach solutions that will benefit us all. By running, I hope to amplify the voices of the constituents not only in my district, but in the entire community, and bring positive change and opportunity to Watsonville.
