Now is the time for experience. Communities are facing overwhelming decision-making challenges to recover. Watsonville needs leaders who will bring us back to where we were before the pandemic and continue to move us forward.
In 2014, I was elected to the Watsonville City Council. During that term, I worked with other councilmembers to bring change to our community. Collaboratively, we built a park on Davis Avenue, funded after school and senior programs, cleaned up the sloughs for safer access, improved infrastructure like roads, crosswalks, and sidewalks; broadband was installed downtown and city employees were moved off furloughs and back to work. This is just a glimpse of what we accomplished, there is much more to do. We need to stretch our finances during this recession, and it is my goal to have as little impact on our community as possible. I will continue to strive to improve infrastructure and advocate for healthy policies to promote a safe, vibrant community for all.
Currently, as a teacher for the Pajaro Valley Unified School District, I am shaping the minds of the future. I listen to and care about my students, as well as my community. My door is open to all. I’d be honored to have your vote.
