University & College Students:  Are you Vote Ready?    

All registered voters in Santa Cruz County will be mailed a ballot for the November 5, 2024, Presidential General Election. UC students have options when it comes to registering to vote and where to vote. Sammy biking


Register to Vote:

  • Use your address where you live in Santa Cruz County; OR
  • If you live on the UCSC campus, register to vote using your campus mailing address.  Click HERE for residence and mailing addresses for campus housing; OR
  • Register to vote using an address outside of the county, such as your parents' address or hometown address.

Regardless of where you register to vote, you might need to update where you want your ballot mailed.

Look up your voter information at VoterStatus.sos.ca.gov.  

Make changes to your voter registration at RegisterToVote.ca.gov.

Make your changes by October 21 so we can mail out your voter materials.  Between October 22 and Election Day, November 5, voter registration changes should be made at a vote center.


Where to Vote:

  • Drop off your ballot in the vote-by-mail envelope provided to you at any drop box located throughout the county.  A drop box will be located on the UCSC campus in Quarry Plaza near the bookstore.
  • Bring in your ballot or get one on-site at any vote center throughout the county.  There will be one voting location on the UCSC campus at Stevenson Event Center, open Nov. 2-3, 9am-5pm; Nov. 4, 8am-5pm; and on Election Day, Nov. 5, 7am to 8pm.
  • Mail in your ballot in the vote-by-mail envelope provided.  Ensure it is postmarked by Election Day, November 5.
