Recently we’ve faced some of our most serious challenges. A worldwide pandemic affected everyone, took friends and family from us, and turned our economy upside down. We’ve also seen attacks on democracies and threats to our Constitution and rule of law.
I remain guided by several principles. Support families, workers, and small businesses not the 1% or special interests. Collaborate with local officials and community leaders to help everyone get through these perilous times and rebound stronger. Stay true to our Constitution, basic fairness, and human decency. And stand up to bullies.
The CARES Act and American Rescue Plan helped communities and small businesses survive. The recently passed infrastructure bill impacts every corner of our country, positioning us to surge forward economically. And while inflation jumped worldwide, unlike others America thankfully avoided economic stagnation and mass unemployment. Last year, we reached the world’s highest economic growth and kept unemployment low. We’ll continue to fight inflation, but not at the expense of good jobs or wages.
It’s been exciting to spend time in Watsonville, learning what needs to be done and how I can help on immigration reform, securing flood control resources, housing, serving our veterans, and much more.
We’ve been through a lot. But I know we can and will emerge stronger. Solutions are within reach if we all pull in the same direction. Diversity is our strength, but unity is our power.

Recientemente nos hemos enfrentado a algunos de nuestros desafíos más serios. Una pandemia mundial afectó a todos, nos arrebató amigos y familiares y puso nuestra economía patas arriba para abajo. También hemos visto ataques a las democracias y amenazas a nuestra Constitución y estado de derecho.
Sigo guiada por varios principios. Apoyar a las familias, los trabajadores y las pequeñas empresas, no al 1% o intereses especiales. Colabore con funcionarios locales y líderes comunitarios para ayudar a todos a superar estos tiempos peligrosos y recuperarse más fuertes. Mantenerme fiel a nuestra Constitución, la justicia básica y la decencia humana. Y hacer frente a los acosadores.
La Ley CARES y el Plan De Rescate Americano ayudaron a las comunidades y pequeñas empresas a sobrevivir. La ley de infraestructura recientemente aprobada, afecta a todos los rincones de nuestro país, posicionándonos para avanzar económicamente. Y aunque la inflación aumentó en todo el mundo, a diferencia de otros los Estados Unidos afortunadamente evitó el estancamiento económico y el desempleo masivo. El año pasado, alcanzamos el crecimiento económico más alto del mundo y mantuvimos el desempleo bajo. Continuaremos luchando contra la inflación, pero no a expensas de buenos empleos o salarios.
Ha sido emocionante pasar tiempo en Watsonville, aprendiendo lo que se necesita hacer y cómo puedo ayudar en una reforma migratoria, asegurando recursos para el control de inundaciones, vivienda, sirviendo a nuestros veteranos y mucho más.
Hemos pasado por mucho. Pero sé que podemos y saldremos fortalecidos. Las soluciones están al alcance si todos tiramos en la misma dirección. La diversidad es nuestra fuerza, pero la unidad es nuestro poder.
