Development Director www.kumarforcouncil.com kumarforcouncil2020@gmail.com Age: 31
As a queer, woman of color raised in poverty, my approach to politics is rooted in a personal understanding of the impact of systemic inequities. I take seriously the call from our communities to acknowledge the failings of the status quo through root-level change.
From community centers, to juvenile halls, to organic farms, the purpose of my work is to bring those pushed to the margins, front and center. I have been working hard for a new way of doing things-- a way that cares about the people who make our community strong, resilient and compassionate.
I am a board member at Salud Para la Gente, Santa Cruz Community Ventures and serve on the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission of Santa Cruz County. I hold a Master’s Degree in Economics, focusing on small businesses. This foundation links directly to our community priorities related to economic, criminal, health and social justice.
I bring new ideas that are big, but grounded in the will of the people. This is a direct result of listening deeply to people like you and staying true to our collective well-being.
I would be honored to earn your vote as we rise to this moment together.
